More Information about the Safe Gaming System

The introduction of the Safe Gaming System™ (SGS) marks a revolutionary change for the better in both the technology of gambling and its consumer/patron orientation. This new invention provides gamblers and gaming operators with the tools to ensure that potentially harmful gambling situations are prevented or minimized.

The system employs modern technology in a clear and understandable fashion, coupled with tested and proven behavioral science related to gambling, for the benefit of those who choose to gamble.

SGS is a patented, secure system, which safeguards those who use it from developing Problem Gambling issues. It does so by requiring that all customers who choose to gamble set and maintain a gambling budget, and "pre-purchase" their gambling entertainment.

An agreement is made between SGS and the registrant that all pre-purchases of recreational gambling are only allowed to a level that is affordable for the individual. The use of the SGS assures compliance with the agreed gambling budget, by requiring the use of a debit card for all gambling. The debit card allows access to the amount pre-purchased, and no more.

Upon application for an SGS account, individuals are assessed for their own tendency to develop social, psychological, and/or economic problems associated with inappropriate gambling behavior, and receive instantaneous feedback of the results. During on-line SGS registration, budgets are determined and agreed upon, which are used to set personal expenditure and time limits for gambling. The uniqueness of each person's own profile yields the key data to assist in maintaining control over gambling behavior, and to provide personal guidance on a real time basis.

SGS guides each person who registers through a personal budget calculation and commits the registrant to affordable limits for recreational gambling. Options allow administering the gambling budget on either a monthly or quarterly basis. Funds authorized for an SGS account that are not expended in the current period may be carried forward to future periods. Winnings are added to the SGS account balance and losses are deducted. Sophisticated information technology is used to customize each person's own gambling guidelines and needed support features. Tutorials that demystify gambling, and teach how popular games really work, are an integratral part of the Safe Gaming System.

SGS employs a secure, active network connected to gaming venues' sites and devices. SGS is linked into gambling activity, including win/lose results, as they occur. The system is programmed to interact with the player upon request or whenever a limit is approached or reached, which indicates a need for the player to take action. Examples of limits are loss amounts and playing time. Examples of actions that may be recommended to the player are to end the gambling session, or to take time out for a "cooling off" period.

There is a modest registration fee to establish an account, which is rebated through discounts, as SGS optional services are used. The major services provided by the SGS are:

  • A personal, secure assessment of each user
  • Initiation and control of personal gambling limits
  • Pre-purchasing of gambling, limited by personal affordability
  • Administration of limits during gambling
  • Debiting/crediting of SGS account based upon gambling activities
  • Real-time monitoring and intervention, if needed, during gambling
  • Educational programs and gaming tutorials
